Day One of Coding Dojo Onsite Boot Camp
Posted on June 3, 2015 in Coding Dojo, Programming Bootcamp by Matt Jennings

I’m enrolled in the Coding Dojo Onsite Boot Camp in Bellevue, WA. The class started yesterday yet I’m decided to do a post for every day of class.

I decided to take this class because:

  • I’m lost out on job opportunities from not knowing programming languages and/or JavaScript libraries like Ruby on Rails, PHP, MVC concepts, AngularJS, and Node.js.
  • Through this intensive, three week class hopefully I’ll understand these technologies by learning the LAMP, MEAN, and Ruby on Rails stacks.

Yesterday (June 1) we mostly worked on/learned HTML, CSS, and a little bit of plain JavaScript. Although I consider myself an except in HTML and CSS I still learned a little bit from the class like how when I make an HTTP request to a website (like www.google.com) the request first goes to a DNS server to convert the website address to an IP address.

I’ll post more soon!
